My biggest New Year’s resolution for 2016 was to read more books. A whole year would go by and I would maybe read 1 book. This past year i made it a goal to read books instead of submitting my self to hours of Netflix binge watching. Here are a few of my favorites that I found and recommend reading:
Big Little Lies By Liane Moriarty
Liane Moriarty has been my absolute favorite author this year. This book is so good and not at all boring. Its about a new single mom in town and a few other families in town. It is all about the behind the scene of each of the family and how they all intertwine in the end. I don’t want to spoil it for you, but you should definitely find time to read it. They are coming out with a show on HBO based on this book in February of 2017, and I am really looking forward to watching it. I love Liane Moriarty’s books so much that I am currently reading The Husband’s Secret, and I walked into Barnes and Noble the other day and picked up her newer book, Truly Madly Guilty. You cannot go wrong with any of her books.
We’ll Always Have Paris By Jennifer Coburn
This was an impulse by. I found it on one of the tables labeled “Summer Must Reads”. I don’t think it is a super well known read, but I am glad I picked it up. I read it while on the plane this summer. The cover kind of threw me off. I thought it would be about a mother and her daughter’s experience on trips. Instead it is only written from the mother’s perspective. The chapters switch between descriptions of the mother’s childhood experience and descriptions of the trips she is going on with her daughter now. It is super cute. The mom’s biggest fear is that her daughter will resent her, so she tries to take as many trips around the world with her. Something she wasn’t able to do as a child. Each section of the book is a different place the visited. I really enjoyed reading this book, and I suggest it if you are looking for a book to take on a trip.
#GirlBoss By Sophia Amoruso
If you are going to choose one book from this list I HIGLY recommend this book. This maybe my all time favorite book EVER. It is written by the founder of Nasty Gal. I had heard about this book on the internet, but I had no idea how life changing it could be. It really does live up to the hype. The founder talks about all the struggles she went through at the beginning of adulthood. She talks about stealing and all the different ways she made money. She would buy vintage clothes from GoodWill and sell them in her vintage Ebay shop. She also talks about how she wasn’t happy just being a CEO of a company. She wanted to stay engaged with the customers and selling. It is so motivating. It is a really good book to read if you aren’t in the best place. I have re-read it a few times and it is so good.
Two By Two By Nicholas Sparks
This is the book I finished most recently. It just came out in these past few months. Honestly who doesn’t love a good ole Nicholas Sparks love story? The reason I recommend this novel so much is because it’s not like his other stories. From the beginning you can tell that it’s about the challenges that come with “true love”. Russel Green has the perfect family and the perfect job, but he knows he has taken it for granted. Slowly his world is turned upside down. His perfect job is no longer perfect and his wife is no longer happy. I don’t want to spoil it to much, but this is another great story by Nicholas Sparks that I would suggest to anyone especially if you enjoy his movies and other books.
I hope you all enjoyed this blog post. I am no way a book blogger, and I hope I was able to give you all a good enough description. Have any of you read these books? What did you think of them? Any suggestions of books that you think I have to read? Let me know!
Talk to ya’ll later
