Essie Winter Collection and Swatches!

It is the most wonderful time of the year. The time when all of the beauty brands release tons of new products onto the market. One of the releases I look particularly forward to is the Essie Winter Collection. Out of all of Essie’s limited edition collections this one is probably my favorite. Some of my all time favorite nailpolishes have come from their winter collections such as toggle to the top.

This year I walked into Walgreens to find an untouched display. I squealed a little bit not going to lie. I held back and decided that i wasn’t going to empty my wallet so I only chose two. The amount of self control I exhibited is ridiculous lol. I chose the shades Satin Sister and Getting Groovy. Here are the swatches and what I think:

Essie Polish in “Getting Groovy”

This is two coats of polish with no topcoat. The formula is very good for a metallic for it is not streaky and is a good consistency, not to thick and not to thin. I chose this color because it was kind of their featured color and I can NEVER pass up a metallic gold. Essie has come out with metallic golds in their winter collections before, but they usually lean on the more silvery/gray side than a true yellow toned gold. Getting Groovy is definitely a yellow toned gold. I highly recommend this polish. It is a perfect shade for the holidays that are coming up.

Essie Polish in “Satin Sister”

The other polish I picked up from the collection is Satin Sister. It is a dark teal blue shade. I chose this polish because I have nothing like this in my collection, and I don’t think I have ever seen a shade like this by Essie. Let me tell you, I am in love! This shade applied so smooth and was completely opaque in 2 coats. It is also super shiny, and I like my nail polish to be as shiny as possible. Usually when I wear dark teals like this my nails are always stained blue after I remove it.I removed it and absolutely no blue!  I even swatched this  shade 2nd just incase!(sidenote: sorry for the kind of messy swatch i got a little lazy). Very impressive! Both of these are fantastic polishes and I will be rocking them this winter. I’m even a little tempted to get the frosty peach in the collection now!

Have you picked up any or seen them in stores? Let me know your favorites!
